Antonius Holtmann: | No Masterpiece or : How "Liwwät Böke" Was Adorned With Borrowed Plumes (2012) |
Luke Knapke did not include the Prayers
(1855, 64 pages) in his book. They they have been written later than
1900. They include a “Beichtspiegel” (confession mirror), a tool for
the examination of one’s conscience, has this sentence: “Johannes
Tauler - du häs dussen Bichtspiegel
schriewen - dien Tied gaf’t noag kein Tngeltangel kein Kino
un wat weit ik!” (Johannes Tauler - in your
time there was no Tingeltangel and no cinema and search me!).
Tauler
lived 1300-1361. and Liwwät 1807-1881. About 1855 she could not
know the German worgd Tingeltangel (low music hall or honky-tonk).
About 1875 this word was created. The first cinema performance was in
1894 in New York. The confession mirror is a forgery, and the prayers
are suspected also to be forgeries and plagiarisms.
Luke Knapke did not include the Ancient Poetry
in his book. It is a collection of about 70 poems, written in Middle
High German. The translations into High German were copied word for
word out of an edition of German poems, published in 1969. (12e)
The translations are forgeries and plagiarisms.
